A Power Quality Audit focuses on the categories and characteristics of power system electromagnetic phenomena — transients, short and long duration variations, voltage unbalances, waveform distortion, voltage fluctuations, and power frequency variations. Using the audit findings, problems can be identified and corrective measures taken, preventing facility downtime and saving time and money.

What We Do During an Audit

1. Preliminary Review
Before an onsite survey, we review the facility's power system performance. This characterises the problem, identifies important changes to the facility or supply system that could be causing power quality issues, and helps plan the site survey.

2. Site Survey & Field Measurements
The site survey gathers information about the facility, the power quality problems and the affected equipment — the nature of the problem, characteristics of the sensitive equipment involved, possible sources of power quality events, whether power conditioning equipment is in use, and how the electrical system is laid out. Field measurements cover line currents, bus voltages, harmonic distortion levels, transients and power factors, documented on standard reporting forms.

3. Technical Report
Following the review and site visit, a technical report summarises the audit findings — highlighted power system problems, field measurements, and suggested solutions and recommendations for follow-on monitoring or engineering analysis, forming a foundation for further analysis and effective power system design.
